Living our best life Is not about being rich, popular, or highly educated, but all about being confident in who we are, being strong and self-reliant, and being good friends with generous hearts.
One would think that by the age of 60+, we would have reached the pinnacle for being comfortable in our own skin. But sadly, that’s not always true. I think we can all agree that true b-e-a-u-t-y is not achieved through the multi-billion-dollar beauty, fashion, and image industry.
I had an epiphany: when I am in heaven, I want to be who I am now—because I am living my best life! This me—the sixty-four-year-old remodeling contractor living in Lubbock, Texas, married to Chuck Tedder. The one who has lots of girlfriends who enrich my life. The Marita who is living a life she never planned for or expected—a life that is so different from who I was for most of my adult life.
