Are you feeling unfulfilled and stuck in your current routine? I understand how you feel. Several years ago, I found myself in a similar situation. My family had suffered a string of devastating losses, and as an empty nester, I was grappling with a newfound lack of purpose.
Reflect and Rely on Faith
I took some time to reflect on what I wanted out of life, relying on my faith and the support of my husband to get through this difficult time. Despite being grateful for what I had, I felt a void that shopping and leisure activities couldn’t fill. So, I turned to books, podcasts, and self-discovery to figure out what was next for me.
Then, the pandemic hit, and my youngest daughter came home to work remotely. She encouraged me to turn my passion for personal development into a podcast. A month later, on my 60th birthday, she surprised me with a microphone, and I launched “Mornings with Monette.” Although I was intimidated by the thought of starting a podcast, I knew deep down that this was my calling.
Morning with Monette
Fast forward, and I’ve been producing an episode every Wednesday since then. My podcast has received over 9,500 downloads and continues to grow as I share my experiences and offer encouragement to listeners facing similar challenges. I believe that it’s never too late to try something new and find your true passions. So, tune into “Mornings with Monette” and let me inspire you to embrace your next big adventure.
If, like me, you have turned 60 and faced an unknown future, what have you done that became your new adventure?
Wonderful! Very encouraging! I myself started a YouTube channel at 65 years of age.
You’re never too old to start a new adventure.
What is you YouTube Channel called? I would love to check it out!
This is great and a wonderful way to use your gifts! I have done many different things in my 50’s and 60’s (I took fencing lessons and joined a fencing club and I took tap dancing classes twice to name a few) and think it’s very important to do the things that excite you and challenge you!
I love that! I think so many women think it’s to late to try new things
I love trying new things. At 71 I’m well into 3 years of line dancing, and even doing some teaching. I tap dance as well. I attend Women’s Club and so enjoy many activities with girlfriends. I love to travel and have several trips planned for the coming year, including a Caribbean line dance cruise and a Florida trip. Each day I consider it to be my best life!
This is very uplifting and inspiring! Thank you, Monette, for sharing your story.
Monette—congrats! New chapters can be daunting…sounds like your daughter knew exactly how to encourage you! YAY to moms and daughters!
So encouraging! It was great to hear the prospects of the seven women.
