You might have to encourage your man to enjoy his loves. My friend Yvonne, when asked what was the most outrageously fun thing she had done with her honey, replied: “Zip lining in Alaska and parasailing in Hawaii. He didn’t want to do either of them, but afterward he said it was the best of times… go figure?”
Positive Perspective in Hard Seasons
Although it may take a while for the next season to come, and God’s plan for that season to be revealed, hang on tightly, trusting change is ahead and forward motion is possible. Just as darkness gives way to light, tears dry, and joy rules the day.
Can Your Attitude Really Reshape Your Reality?
I believe a person’s attitude is extremely important as it shapes our reality and influences every aspect of our lives. Our attitude determines our perception and experience of reality. Two people can be in the same situation but have such different experiences based on their attitudes. A positive attitude opens you up to new opportunities and experiences while a negative attitude limits you.
My year of saying “Yes”
Let’s make this year a symphony of yeses, a crescendo of courage. Here’s to embracing adventure, no matter our age! Please give me your suggestions or thoughts about the YES concept for YOUR life.
Conquering Change and Fear
If something is important enough to you, you and God can figure it out! I believe God wants me to continue to create, record and promote a podcast that shares success principles from a Godly perspective. It’s what I have a passion to do! I’m learning that when I share ideas, like you, I have to be willing to change, to try new things, even if it is uncomfortable.
Are You Living with Fierce Belief in Possibility?
I don’t know about you, but time feels like it is speeding up. It seems like it was just Christmas and now we are in August! I want to talk about this topic: Fierce Belief in Possibilities, because if you don’t take the time to really think about new possibilities, time just marches on and…
Are you Living as a Victim or a Victor?
As long as we give our self-worth to our ever-changing circumstances, we are going to suffer. We are going to go from people pleasing—which is being whoever or whatever we need to be to get people to like us to feeling worthless when we feel they don’t like us. It’s all a big fat lie! But we are allowing it. In fact, in some ways, we are creating it. If you are in this dark place right now, I’m here to tell you, the only reason you are here is because at some level you feel you deserve to be here. You are making up a ton of this by believing you are a mind reader and you know people’s intent and motives and you believe it is toward you and you have come up with the ugliest scenarios about these people’s motives, you are the focal point. You are the judge, jury, and sentencer of their motives. The crazy part is you feel you are right!
Caribbean Dreams
Earlier this month, I had a Caribbean-themed Casita Marita Dinner Party. I asked everyone to dress as if they were on a Caribbean vacation. People asked for the recipes so I thought I’d share them here—along with a timeline for putting the party together with ease.
Unlocking Your Potential: Shifting From a Fixed Mindset to a Growth Mindset
With a growth mindset, we’re more likely to push through challenges, put in the hard work, and ultimately achieve better results. It’s all about embracing that journey of constant improvement and development. On the flip side, a fixed mindset can really hold us back. It makes us quick to throw in the towel when things get tough and resistant to change or new opportunities.
The Class Reunion
I’m getting ready to head back to my hometown in NY to attend my 50th high school class reunion. How. Is. That. Even. Possible? I truly don’t feel like it’s been 50 years since the days of earth science, English literature, or world history. But the calendar says it’s true. And so do my arthritic…
