This Summer has been hot. I came home one day in my Peck & Peck shorts and my Cable & Gauge top and immediately went to my closet to find a loose-fitting dress that didn’t bind my waist and allowed air-flow. What a relief! Six Things I’ve Learned in Six (Plus) Decades
This is the joy of life, learning from others, finding our way, and helping as many as we can along the way, but always knowing there is water in the well. And it does not belong to us. It is God’s gift.
Living in Strength
Each of us have Personality strengths and weaknesses. Living our best life, however, means that we focus on the strengths and work to minimize the weaknesses. This concept is called Living in Strength. Here we offer a quick read that features a basic introduction to The Personalities, with links to additional support material, while pointing to how each of us can put our best self forward.
Stay Connected with Family Over the Miles
Despite the physical distance that separates families, part of living our best life is staying connected. It is vital for maintaining strong bonds and relationships. With the help of technology and a bit of creativity, it is possible to bridge the gap and ensure that distance does not hinder the love and support shared among family members.
Serving as a Caregiver
At times, caregiving is tough, but the care you provide others is a gift that eases suffering and provides support. You may find yourself having hard conversations about end-of-life wishes, eternity, and comforting fears about the uncertainties of last days. Listen patiently and answer compassionately.
Acceptance and Changing Seasons
Each season offers beauty, purpose, and challenges. In our minds, and hearts, we must see the beauty and purpose within our place in life. And we need to know God is sovereign—He has a plan in mind. He has a purpose. And He makes beauty out of our ashes.
Talents and Gifts
Do you still have a longing to use gifts and talents that you have put on the shelf while you were busy homemaking, mothering, or building a career? It is never too late! I have learned that age is just a number. It is my hope that you will continue to find new sisters in this after-60 phase of life—who are women living out their best lives.
