When we reach this sweet spot in life, we get to choose how we want to look and what effort we wish to expend to get there. We will have additional blogs with more specifics, but for now, I offer a general overview of what Looking Our Best at 60+ might mean for you.

Team Faith
Our paster did an interesting take on the typical Hebrews 11 “hall of faith.” He addressed an oft overlooked participant in the hall of faith: The People. I’m not going to give you the whole sermon here, though you could go and watch it. But he left us with this challenge: “How will your faith…
Braces, Bifocals, and a Baby!
I reflected on the proclamation from the doctors who told me that I would never, ever, no matter what, be able to have a child, and that appeared to be the case for several years after major surgery to improve my prospects for motherhood failed. During that time, I truly gave in to God, found the strength to move on, and found ways to utilize my God given gifts and talents. As my girlfriends were becoming empty nesters and doting grandmas, I suddenly found that I would soon be in the throes of mid-life first time motherhood.

Putting out the Open Sign
It is not about having a perfect party—worthy of the society section of the paper (do they even do that anymore). It is about having a good time with your friends. If your friends expect you to have a white-glove house with gourmet food that you’ve slaved over (or hired caterers), do you really want them for friends? I know I don’t.
Maturing Along with Barbie
If you are like me, that image in the mirror looks more like a stranger on the street than who your own mental image says you are! Did you know that Barbie is now over 70….and if she is anything like the REAL US, I know there should be several new-“old” Barbie’s on the drawing…
Thankful for My Girlfriends!
Life can be messy, and fear or worry can quickly destroy even the strongest of resolves, leaving us shaking at all the unknowns. It’s been said, “that which terrifies you controls you.” And it certainly can.
